“Near-Earth Worlds” Space Art Exhibit, sponsored by the International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA), the Mars Institute, the SETI Institute, and NASA. The exhibit will be inaugurated on Sunday 17 July at 2 pm PDT. A highlight of this exhibit will be the display of an original oil painting by visionary space artist Chesley Bonestell (1888-1986) depicting the human exploration of a Near-Earth asteroid.

Mars Institute Asaph Hall Best Student Paper Award
A ceremony will be held by the Mars Institute on Tuesday 19 July at 12:30 pm PDT to present the “Asaph Hall Best Student Paper Award” to the student (undergraduate or graduate) who will have first-authored the most noteworthy research paper presented at the PhD-3 Conference, as judged by the Technical Organizing Committee of the conference.
